ASUMAYA - A JAPANESE WINTERHOUSE

This small tea house was constructed in the remote village of Koshirakura in the Niigata Prefecture of Northern Japan in Summer 1999. Under Shin Egashira, we designed and constructed 2 large moving furniture which slide into the main hut like a jigsaw puzzle. The furniture was realsied using traditional Japanese joinery without any nails.
